With the crowning of our new Queen – Queen Emma Parker, we were on the way to the preparations for our 2017 event.
It’s been a roller coaster of a year for us. Highs have been the success of last years event, the Halloween Party and the Santa parade, as well some of the nights out we had.
Our Halloween party saw over 100 children and parents all dressed up in an array of costumes to scare the committee. The Santa Parade just keeps growing and this year we had a record number of people following the procession. I think we have the best dancing Santa in the world! Staying with Christmas, our annual ball once again was a great success. If you’re wanting tickets for this years ball, get in touch soon, it’s always a sell out.
Last year we also introduced our memorial Xmas tree. We were amazed by the amount of baubles and decorations that were placed on behalf of loved ones no longer with us.
Santa visits were again increased from last year. There’s nothing better than sharing your child’s excitement when Santa chaps the door. Some of the adult nights out were fully supported however there was some that we had to cancel due to lack of support.
We could really be doing with attracting new committee members to help drive this forward so if your interested then get in touch.
We have also had a few street fayres this year which are always well supported. We have now started inviting stall holders from outside the community to take part. This gives you a wider selection of goodies to choose from and low prices.
The pubs, clubs and businesses have really helped us this year by taking collection tins for us. If everyone just gave a little it would take a lot of the pressure off our fundraising activities. We hope you are all proudly displaying your certificates showing you’re a supporter.
Our civic week starts on Friday 2nd and we have a selection of events for all ages. Bring the kids and family along – you’ll have a great time.
Thanks again for your support!
